Here are a few of the stories I worked on this week:

Scientists Are ‘Fingerprinting’ Rocks– Stone theft is a big deal in some areas, particularly when the stones have been there for hundreds of years. Now, an experimental technique might help return stones to their rightful place.

Primordial Electricity– NASA scientists recreated deep-sea hydrothermal vents in a lab, and found that they produced electricity, a key component of life.

Shock Rocks– Lightning leaves traces in rocks that strongly resemble a meteorite impact.
